Tamu Besar Kota Belud 2026 expected to draw 50,000 visitors
Tamu Besar Kota Belud 2026 will run from Oct 10 to 18 in Kota Belud, Sabah, targeting about 50,000 visitors. Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick said the Head of State will launch the event, with the Chief Minister attending on Oct 17, and it will feature buffalo and cattle races at Padang Kota Belud plus a Tamu Geopark Kinabalu spotlighting Mount Kinabalu.

Yayasan Sabah Group to host Silam Coast conservation research seminar in Kota Kinabalu
The Yayasan Sabah Group will hold a scientific survey seminar and research direction workshop for the Silam Coast Conservation Area from Sept 8 to 10 at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu. The event, expected to be officiated by Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, will gather over 80 participants from research institutions, government agencies and NGOs to strengthen conservation and development efforts.

Sabah business carnival in October targets 100 entrepreneurs, 50,000 visitors
The Malaysia Business Empowerment Carnival (HPM) Sabah Edition is scheduled for Oct 23-25 in Kota Kinabalu, targeting 100 entrepreneurs and 50,000 visitors. Deputy Chief Minister Ewon Benedick said his ministry will support the event, which will also feature business-matching programmes.

American state fair and Freedom 250 run draw hundreds to Padang Merdeka
The Great American Sabah State Fair was held at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu, featuring carnival games, food trucks, and live music. The event included the Freedom 250 Fun Run, which saw around 600 participants run 2.50 miles to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The US Embassy's Chargé d'Affaires David H. Gamble Jr said the fair aimed to give Sabahans a taste of an American tradition.

A taste of America in the heart of KK
Sabah joined celebrations for 250 years of American independence with the Freedom 250 Fun Run and the Great American Sabah State Fair at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu. The event featured 40 vendors, food, games, and performances, with US Embassy officials and Harley-Davidson riders taking part.

Sigar and Usunan Bajau Samah among the icons
The 2026 Sabah Day celebrations in Kota Kinabalu featured a parade with six cultural icons, including the Sigar Penampang and Usunan Bajau Samah. The event also included a marching competition won by UiTM Cawangan Sabah's Komander Kesatria team, with over 10,000 participants from 173 contingents.

400 Sabah students explore Chinese culture at event
