The highest readings were at the Kota Kinabalu and Politeknik stations, both reaching 156. The Sabah Department of Environment (JAS) believes the haze is influenced by forest and peatland fires in Kalimantan.

Sabah's DOE director urged the public to avoid open burning and report any incidents.
