Pahang health dept investigates death of UiTM student at endurance event in Maran
The Pahang State Health Department is investigating the death of a 21-year-old UiTM student who collapsed during the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026 in Maran last Saturday. Eight other participants received medical treatment for heat-related issues. The department has advised organizers of strenuous outdoor activities to conduct risk assessments and ensure adequate water and rest periods.

17 patients, 11 of them children, evacuated after fire damages Jengka Hospital wards
A fire at Jengka Hospital in Maran damaged the ceilings of the paediatric and women's wards, prompting the evacuation of 17 patients, including 11 children. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UiTM student's death during endurance run classified as sudden death
A 21-year-old UiTM student, Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, died after experiencing breathing difficulties during an endurance competition at UiTM Jengka in Maran. Police have classified his death as sudden death pending a pathologist's report. Eight other students were also hospitalised after the event.

Police await blood test results of lorry driver in fatal LPT 1 crash
Temerloh district police are awaiting blood test results of the cement tanker driver involved in an 11-vehicle accident at KM 110.4 of the LPT 1 highway in Lanchang, Temerloh on August 31. The crash killed four people, including a family of three. The 52-year-old driver is still being treated at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HoSHAH), Temerloh.

Seven UiTM students hospitalised, outdoor KKEC 2026 activities cancelled after heat incident in Jengka
Seven UiTM students are still receiving treatment in Pahang hospitals following a heat-related incident during a tough road race at the KKEC 2026 program in Jengka Campus. One student died in the incident, and all outdoor activities for the program have been cancelled. The UiTM Vice-Chancellor said the university is cooperating with authorities on the investigation.

UiTM student dies of heat stroke after endurance challenge in Jengka
A 21-year-old UiTM student, Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, died from a heat-related illness after collapsing during the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge at UiTM Jengka on Sept 4. He was treated at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh but passed away yesterday. His father said his son was fit and had completed the challenge in previous years.
