Kuching memorial marks 60 years since end of Konfrontasi
A ceremony was held at Batu Lintang Memorial Square in Kuching on Aug 27 to mark the 60th anniversary of the peace agreement between Indonesia and Malaysia that ended the Confrontation on Aug 11, 1966. It was attended by Malaysian armed forces personnel, Commonwealth servicemen from Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the Gurkhas, and veterans of the conflict. The article recounts the history of the confrontation launched by Indonesia's Sukarno in 1963.

50 Sarawak PGA officers undergo combat shooting training in Kuching
Fifty General Operations Force (PGA) personnel from the Sarawak Brigade underwent combat shooting training at the brigade headquarters in Kuching on September 8. The exercise, led by Sergeant Fadzlee Md Farid, focused on skills with the Walther P99 pistol and M4 combat rifle. Brigade weapons staff officer ASP Micheal Kilab stressed the importance of continuous training to maintain readiness.
