Ceiling fire at Jengka Hospital wards, patients moved out
Part of the ceiling in the children's and women's wards of Hospital Jengka in Maran, Pahang, caught fire at about 7pm last night. Seventeen patients - six boys, five girls and six women - escaped unhurt. Pahang Fire and Rescue put out the fire in about 20 minutes, and the cause is under investigation.

Pahang health dept investigates death of UiTM student at endurance event in Maran
The Pahang State Health Department is investigating the death of a 21-year-old UiTM student who collapsed during the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026 in Maran last Saturday. Eight other participants received medical treatment for heat-related issues. UiTM student's death during endurance run classified as sudden death
A 21-year-old UiTM student, Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, died after experiencing breathing difficulties during an endurance competition at UiTM Jengka in Maran. Police have classified his death as sudden death pending a pathologist's report. Eight other students were also hospitalised after the event.

Seven UiTM students hospitalised, outdoor KKEC 2026 activities cancelled after heat incident in Jengka
Seven UiTM students are still receiving treatment in Pahang hospitals following a heat-related incident during a tough road race at the KKEC 2026 program in Jengka Campus. One student died in the incident, and all outdoor activities for the program have been cancelled. The UiTM Vice-Chancellor said the university is cooperating with authorities on the investigation.
