Man who threw cigarette butt gets arrest warrant, then community service in Perlis
A self-employed man in Perlis was issued an arrest warrant after skipping three court summonses over a discarded cigarette butt, and was later ordered to perform community service. He was one of four people given community service orders for the offence in the state, and on the day only he turned up to start cleaning roads and drains around Dataran Sena. SWCorp said 655 notices of offence had been issued in Perlis as of Sept 13, all for discarding cigarette butts.

Perlis municipal council has liability insurance for two cars damaged by fallen tree in Taman Sena
The Perlis Municipal Council (MPNPs) has liability insurance coverage for claims over two private vehicles damaged by a fallen tree in Taman Sena, Kangar. The incident at about 3.30pm yesterday caused no injuries, and cleanup and inspection of at-risk trees are underway.

Contract worker pleads guilty to snatching RM10,000 gold chain in Arau
A contract worker pleaded guilty at the Kangar Magistrate's Court to robbing and injuring an elderly woman while snatching a gold chain worth RM10,000 at a house in Bumbung Lima, Arau on 5 September. Wan Afandi Wan Salehudin, 26, was granted RM6,000 bail with one surety, and sentencing is set for 23 September.
