UPSI kayaker Syahida Asyiqin wins SUKIPT 2026 Sportswoman, sets national record
Syahida Asyiqin Rusli of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) was named Sportswoman of the SUKIPT 2026 games held at Universiti Malaya. She won gold in the women's TK1 200m event and set a new national record of 56.30 seconds in the qualifying round.

Sarawak's Richard Bada wins three F41 golds, sets two records at Games
Sarawak para athlete Richard Bada won three gold medals in the men's F41 throwing events at the Games held at Stadium UiTM Shah Alam. He set new Games records in the shot put and javelin, and also won the discus. The 33-year-old from Kampung Segenam, Serian, dedicated his wins to his teammates and Sarawak.

Mohamad Amierul Amin Shamsul Kamal won the men's 85km race at the Tunggul Melati Trail (TMT) 2026 in Sepang, finishing in 12 hours 15 minutes 50 seconds. Filipino athlete Ritzy Amor Ectin took the women's title with a time of 14:54:22.

National shot putter Jonah Chang Rigan expressed satisfaction after winning a gold medal for Universiti Malaya (UM) at SUKIPT 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. Jonah won the men's shot put with a throw of 18.22 meters, breaking the games record, but had to settle for silver in the discus event.

Shawn Roshan Singh of Universiti Malaya broke the SUKIPT 2026 games record in the men's 1,500m at Arena UM in Kuala Lumpur, clocking 4:03.43. The previous record of 4:05.11 was set in 2016.
