Elderly man in Kuching loses RM161,400 to fake tender scam
A 62-year-old man in Kuching lost RM161,400 after falling for a fake tender offer to supply goods to the JPSPN Sri Aman branch. He made four money transfers to two different bank accounts between 11 and 19 August before realizing he was scammed. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

Kuching tops cybercrime losses, followed by Miri and Sibu
Sarawak's Minister Fatimah Abdullah revealed that Kuching recorded the highest cybercrime losses in the state, totaling RM45.77 million from 782 cases between 2024 and April 2026, followed by Miri and Sibu. She spoke at a forum in Kuching, highlighting that investment scams accounted for the largest financial losses despite e-commerce scams being the most frequent.
