Kerjaya Prospek unit wins RM37.82m piling job for Penang affordable housing
Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd has accepted a RM37.82 million letter of award from Persada Mentari Sdn Bhd for piling and substructure works at an affordable housing project in Pulau Andaman, Penang. The contract covers a 38-storey block with 922 units and is scheduled to start on Oct 1 and finish within 24 months. The group expects the job to add revenue and strengthen its order book through 2028.

Penang defends Taman Manggis PPR evictions, says units needed for genuinely poor
The Penang state government has defended its phased eviction of residents from the Taman Manggis People's Housing Project (PPR) in George Town, saying background checks found some residents owned luxury vehicles and businesses. State housing chairman S. Sundarajoo said 19 units have been acted on so far, with 103 more cases to be processed, and that alternative housing and rent-to-own options were offered.

Court of Appeal upholds RM920,508 award against Penang condo developer over defects
The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya dismissed Melariang Sdn Bhd's appeal against a High Court order to pay RM920,508 over defects at The Cantonment condominium in Jalan Cantonment, George Town. The defects included 101 missing fire doors, a wet riser room, pool leakage and car park water ponding. The developer must also pay RM50,000 in appeal costs.
