Car driver arrested for drug-driving after Rochor crash involving bus and PAB
A 31-year-old car driver was arrested for drug-driving after his car rear-ended an SBS Transit bus at a bus stop along Middle Road in Rochor on the evening of Sept 12. A 32-year-old PAB rider and a 65-year-old bus passenger were taken conscious to Raffles Hospital, while five other passengers had minor injuries. A vaporiser was found on the driver and referred to the Health Sciences Authority.

Toddler nearly drowns at SingPost Centre swim class; father jumps in to save him
A three-and-a-half-year-old boy nearly drowned during a swimming lesson at Little Splashes Aquatics' SingPost Centre outlet in Singapore on Sep 6. His father, who had been watching from a viewing area, jumped into the pool to pull him out, and the family has lodged a police report plus complaints with MOM and Sport Singapore. The school has suspended the instructor.

Driver pleads guilty to dangerous driving after 221 km/h six-car road trip
A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty in Singapore to dangerous driving after a six-car road trip on 27 October 2024, during which he reached 221 km/h on the Central Expressway and caused two collisions. He and a 22-year-old female passenger were injured. The case was adjourned to 14 September for mitigation and sentencing.

85-year-old Bukit Batok resident waited over two hours for help after shower fall
An 85-year-old woman fell in her shower at Harmony Village @ Bukit Batok on Sep 2 and pressed the emergency call bell, but no one came for over two hours. She dragged herself to the main door, where a neighbour heard her calls and an ambulance was finally summoned. She underwent hip surgery and is recovering at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, while the operator says it is reviewing the incident.

Man, 51, found dead on bench in Jalan Besar alley; police investigating
A 51-year-old man was found motionless on a bench in an alley off Jalan Besar, Singapore, on Sep. 7 and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they do not suspect foul play and investigations are ongoing. A cleaner had seen the man sleeping there the previous day and called police after finding him unresponsive.

Vegetation fire near Gali Batu Depot in Woodlands extinguished, no injuries
A vegetation fire measuring about 200m by 200m broke out near the Gali Batu Depot in Woodlands on Sept 7. The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted at about 6.50pm and extinguished the blaze using three water jets, with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
