The Federal Territories Pardons Board, chaired by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, concluded its meeting at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur this morning. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh declined to comment on the outcome, including whether former Prime Minister Najib Razak's case was discussed, and asked the media to wait for an official statement.

Agong presents instruments of appointment to two judges at Istana Negara
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim today presented instruments of appointment to Court of Appeal judge Alice Loke Yee Ching and High Court judge Elaine Yap Chin Gaik. The ceremony was held at the Small Throne Room of Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur and attended by the Chief Justice and the Attorney General.

King grants audience to Zambry and PSC chairman at Istana Negara
Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, today granted an audience to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Istana Negara. His Majesty also granted an audience to Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus. During the session, the King agreed to be briefed on the Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Alice Loke elevated to Court of Appeal, Elaine Yap confirmed as High Court judge
High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The appointment will raise the number of Court of Appeal judges to 31 out of the constitutionally mandated 32 positions.

Datuk Red seeks court confirmation of ruju' pronouncement for legal certainty
