MOTAC to seek allocations for state tourism upgrades, says Tiong
MOTAC will push for funding to help state governments upgrade existing tourist spots and develop new ones, its minister Tiong King Sing said at the opening of the Malaysia Cultural Festival 2026 at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur. The six-day festival runs until Wednesday and features traditional performances, cultural exhibitions and heritage displays from across the country.

Harmony Beyond Borders concert at Titiwangsa draws China, India, Uzbekistan musicians
The Harmony Beyond Borders - A Celebration of Cultural Friendship concert was held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur last night as part of the Malaysia Cultural Festival 2026. Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Chiew Choon Man said cultural diplomacy strengthens people-to-people ties across borders through music, dance and heritage. The concert, coordinated by the Malaysian Traditional Orchestra, featured musicians from China, India and Uzbekistan alongside local artists.

An experimental dance tetralogy titled 'Socrates in D# Minor' will be performed from 17th to 20th September at pangkin@ejklsseni in Wangsa Maju. Directed by Asyraf Syahir, the four episodes explore existential philosophy through scientific theories, with performances mainly in Malay. Tickets are priced at RM48.
