Japan PM Takaichi Urges Faster Adoption of AI, Unmanned Defence Gear
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told senior Self-Defence Forces members that Japan must speed up the introduction of AI and unmanned defence assets. This comes ahead of a planned year-end revision of key national security documents, prompted by challenges from China and North Korea. The Defence Ministry has submitted a record budget request of 8.89 trillion yen for fiscal 2027.
