Chengdu-Penang direct route carries 54,700 passengers, generates RM30mil for Penang tourism
The direct Chengdu-Penang flight route operated by Sichuan Airlines has carried about 54,700 passengers in 16 months, generating nearly RM30 million in tourism benefits for Penang. The route, launched in May last year, was upgraded to a daily service in October due to strong demand. State officials say the service has strengthened connectivity and cultural exchanges between Sichuan and Penang.
