Malaysia's data centre boom: impact on jobs, electricity and water

Malaysia approved RM95.8 billion in data centre and cloud computing investments in the first half of 2026, nearly 44 per cent of total approved investments. The boom is expected to create jobs in construction, engineering and telecommunications, but also raises demand for electricity, water and other infrastructure.
