SDP raises concern over charges against Jolovan Wham and Elijah Tay
Singapore Democratic Party chair Paul Tambyah said the party has deep concerns about police action against activists Jolovan Wham and Elijah Tay. Wham, 46, was handed five new charges on Sep 7, while Tay, 24, was charged on Sep 9 with nine offences, the most of a group of six. The charges relate to unauthorised candlelight vigils near Changi Prison in 2024 and 2025 and an assembly at the State Courts against capital punishment.
