Malaysia to model digital public services on Estonia, Singapore, says deputy minister

Malaysia will draw on Estonia's data transparency framework and Singapore's LifeSG platform as it builds its digital public service architecture, Deputy Digital Minister Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said at the Digital Government Exchange 2026 at voco Kuching on Thursday. He said the government is also pushing regional governance standards through the ASEAN AI Safety Network and ASEAN AI Centre, alongside nationwide 5G, data centre, submarine cable and sovereign cloud rollouts.
