Police seize RM785,263 in untaxed liquor, arrest eight in Beaufort

Beaufort police detained eight people and seized 650 cartons of untaxed liquor and three lorries worth an estimated RM785,263.50. The syndicate is believed to have used river channels, estuaries and coastal routes around Menumbok and Kuala Penyu to evade authorities. The case is being investigated under Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967.
