AAIB begins probe into Long Lellang helicopter crash that killed five
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has started investigating the cause of the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Sarawak, which killed five people on Sept 8, 2026. Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said the investigation team is already at the crash site and a report is expected soon. The BO-105 helicopter, operated by Layang-Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd, crashed near the Long Lellang STOL airport in Ulu Baram while on an FDS mission.
