Umno calls for Malay-Muslim unity, welcomes PAS at assembly

Umno renewed its call for Malay-Muslim unity as more than 3,000 delegates gathered at Dewan Merdeka, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged former allies to put past differences behind them and outlined three principles for cooperation. The presence of PAS leaders was welcomed as a sign of old ties being rebuilt.
