1906 stone inscription in Kemasik records Hainanese settlement from 1888
A granite stone with Chinese carvings from the Guang Xu dynasty in 1906 has been found at Kampung Air Jernih in Kemasik, Terengganu, believed brought by traders from Hainan, China. It is now kept at the Kemasik Hainanese Association building and is seen as a potential heritage attraction. Historians are calling for detailed study by the Terengganu State Museum and the National Heritage Department.
