Zahid: Dewan Merdeka could see Umno-BN back in power in 2026 or 2027

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the party's 2026 general assembly that Dewan Merdeka could witness Umno and Barisan Nasional returning to power as early as 2026 or 2027. In his winding-up speech in Kuala Lumpur, he said the hall had seen the party's hardest moments, including losing its two-thirds majority in 2008 and federal power in 2018.
