EC to study redelineation if Constitution amended for more Sabah, Sarawak seats
The Election Commission says it will review the delineation of electoral constituencies in Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia if the Federal Constitution is amended to raise the number of parliamentary seats for Sabah and Sarawak. EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said the commission took note of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's statement after the MA63 implementation council meeting in Kota Kinabalu. Anwar said the Cabinet had agreed in principle to increase the representation of Sabah and Sarawak MPs while keeping their share higher than at present.
