Dr Sivanesan Letchumanan elected new president of Malaysian Medical Association
At the Malaysian Medical Association's annual general meeting in Ipoh, Dr Sivanesan Letchumanan took over as its new president. He said retaining government doctors and improving career paths, working conditions and specialist training for medical graduates would be his main goals. He also paid tribute to the five people, including four health workers, killed in a recent flying doctor helicopter crash in Ulu Baram, Sarawak, and called for better protection for staff in remote areas.
