Anwar at BRICS: no country should choose debt over its people
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told the 18th BRICS Leaders Summit in New Delhi that developing countries should not be forced to choose between servicing debt and meeting the needs of their people. He called for a fairer global financing system, progress on the New Development Bank and local currency settlement, and said Malaysia wants BRICS to state plainly that occupation and settler colonialism cannot become destiny.
