Public service HR errors must not become the norm, says PSD chief

Public Service Department director-general Wan Ahmad Dahlan said repeated human resource errors in the public sector - covering appointments, acting posts, promotions, salary adjustments, discipline and performance management - must stop and be solved at the root. He spoke at the opening of the 2026 Public Sector Conference in Putrajaya, where he also launched a book on the director-general's role. He separately said measures to improve civil servants' income are being studied, subject to the country's fiscal capacity.
