Singapore racial harmony law takes effect Sep 15, presidential council named
Singapore's Maintenance of Racial Harmony Act 2025 comes into force on Tuesday, Sep 15, introducing a restraining order regime against content that threatens racial harmony. The new Presidential Council for Racial and Religious Harmony, chaired by former Supreme Court judge Choo Han Teck, begins a three-year term the same day, replacing the Presidential Council for Religious Harmony.
