Activist urges workers to rejoin Perkeso's Lindung 24 Jam scheme
Lee Lam Thye has urged workers who opted out of Perkeso's Lindung 24 Jam accident protection scheme to rejoin, warning they risk leaving their families unprotected. Perkeso found workers earning below RM3,500 made up 52% of those who opted out but 74% of claims. About 8.5 million workers remain enrolled after the Cabinet decided in July not to make contributions compulsory.
