Umno confident in early election push, analysts say
Umno is pushing for an earlier general election after eight years out of federal power, with analysts saying its resurgence stems more from Pakatan Harapan's internal weaknesses and public dissatisfaction with the unity government than from Umno's own strength. The party is also said to be testing cooperation with PAS at state level before committing to a formal coalition.
