Anwar leverages BRICS 2026 for Malaysia strategic cooperation

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders in New Delhi during BRICS 2026, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He said agreements were reached on trade, energy investment, automotive and regional geopolitics, including air routes and Petronas cooperation with Russian oil companies. Prabowo agreed to an official visit to Malaysia within one or two months, proposed for Penang.
