Mida: data centre growth must build local supply chain value

At the Data Centre Nexus 2026 conference at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Mida chairman Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said Malaysia's RM385.7 billion in data centre investments from 2021 to mid-2026 must translate into lasting gains for local businesses and SMEs. Panellists called for greater Malaysian participation in renewable energy and higher-value services rather than just supplying land, power and water.
