Sultan Nazrin: Islamic finance can fund climate transition

Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah told the 17th SC-OCIS Roundtable at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in the United Kingdom that Islamic finance principles are suited to financing the climate transition, citing sukuk, waqf and green financing. Securities Commission Malaysia chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi said Malaysia sits in a climate-vulnerable region and flood losses are easily underestimated.
