A 31-year-old cafe owner in Singapore was scammed of nearly S$2,000 after receiving a WhatsApp message from someone posing as hotel staff about an overseas booking. The scammer used accurate booking details to trick him into entering his card details, and the money was transferred within 30 minutes.
