KUALA LUMPUR: Pelabuhan Bintulu secara rasmi menjadi pelabuhan negeri di bawah bidang kuasa kerajaan Sarawak berkuat kuasa 1 September 2026, selepas sebelum ini berstatus pelabuhan persekutuan.

A slope erosion on the North-South Expressway southbound near KM263.6, close to the Menora Tunnel and the Meru-Ipoh Utara stretch, was covered with waterproof sheeting and the route reopened within 24 hours. Perak exco Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said PLUS and the Malaysian Highway Authority are monitoring the site and drafting long-term measures including slope reinforcement, steel netting, satellite monitoring and CCTV. Heavy rain of 65mm, above the usual 40mm, was blamed for the erosion.

The Works Ministry says the Cameron Highlands Bypass is still at the design and assessment stage, with no physical construction on site, so claims linking it to recent flash floods are inaccurate. Jalan Syed Putra-Jalan Istana junction to close in stages from Sept 14 for NPE 2 works
A section of the Jalan Syed Putra and Jalan Istana intersection in Kuala Lumpur will be closed in stages from Sept 14, between 10pm and 5am, to allow preliminary construction for the New Pantai Expressway Extension Project (NPE 2).
