Teen motorcyclist dies after crashing into road barrier in Beaufort
A teenage boy died on Sunday night after his motorcycle crashed into a road barrier along Jalan Kampung Betanduk towards Kota Klias in Beaufort, Sabah. Police received a report at 8.14pm and confirmed the victim died at the scene. In separate incidents, police detained a man for drug possession in Kampung Nukahan and a woman for illegal gambling in Papar.

API readings unhealthy at three Sabah stations, haze from Kalimantan fires blamed
Three air quality monitoring stations in Sabah recorded unhealthy API readings on Monday afternoon, with the highest at Politeknik Kota Kinabalu at 156. The Sabah Department of Environment attributed the haze to transboundary fires in Kalimantan and reminded the public that open burning is prohibited.

Father tells coroner's court daughter would have been in permanent coma had she survived
The father of Zara Qairina Mahathir testified at the Kota Kinabalu coroner's court that doctors told him his daughter would have remained in a permanent coma had she survived. He described her critical injuries and his experience at Queen Elizabeth Hospital before she died on July 17 last year. The inquest into the 13-year-old's death continues.

Mahkamah Koroner di Kota Kinabalu mendengar keterangan bapa Allahyarham Zara Qairina, yang menyatakan kali terakhir beliau bertemu anaknya adalah sekitar 2017 di Sipitang. Mahathir, saksi ke-80, memberitahu mahkamah bahawa beliau tidak lagi tinggal bersama Zara dan ibunya sejak itu, dan hanya berhubung melalui telefon. Sabah API readings hit unhealthy levels in Kota Kinabalu and Kimanis due to haze

The haze is believed to originate from forest and peatland fires in Kalimantan, carried by winds across Borneo.
