Anwar urges maximum restraint in Middle East at BRICS meeting with Iran president
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that all sides must show maximum restraint over the Middle East conflict, speaking at a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS Leaders' Summit at The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi. He stressed the need to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for shipping, warning that disruption would hit global energy markets and Malaysia's own trade and fuel imports. The two leaders also discussed expanding Malaysia-Iran trade, which stood at RM2.45 billion in 2025, led by palm oil exports.

Anwar holds strategic meetings with Indian companies in New Delhi
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a series of strategic meetings with major Indian companies during a working visit to New Delhi. The meetings involved DRB-HICOM, SEGULA Technologies India, AWL Agri Business Limited and Motherson Group in sectors such as automotive, engineering, agribusiness and digital solutions. SEGULA Technologies committed to setting up a Global Engineering Centre in Malaysia by end-2026, while AWL Agri Business previously imported Malaysian palm oil products worth about RM1.5 billion.

Anwar, Modi discuss semiconductor cooperation in New Delhi
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Indian counterpart Narendra Modi discussed deepening semiconductor cooperation and industry partnerships at a bilateral meeting in New Delhi on Sept 12. Anwar raised integrated supply chains, talent development and two-way investment, and reaffirmed Malaysia's commitment to boosting bilateral trade and expediting exports to India. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit hosted by Modi.

Modi urges BRICS to remove 10 trade barriers, Anwar attends summit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on BRICS members to remove 10 key trade barriers as India positions itself as an economic bridge to the world. He spoke at the BRICS Business Forum in New Delhi, which was also attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Malaysia is India's third-largest trading partner in ASEAN.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to hold three bilateral meetings in New Delhi today on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit, including with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is also due to meet the leaders of Kazakhstan and Ethiopia and hold business sessions with several Indian companies such as Adani Group and Motherson Group. Malaysia is attending the summit as a BRICS partner country since 1 January 2025.

Anwar visits New Delhi for BRICS, set to meet Indian industry captains
Malaysia approved 293 manufacturing projects with Indian participation worth US$2.95 billion as of June 2026, with 180 already implemented. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to meet leading Indian industry figures during a working visit to New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit from 11 September. Malaysian companies such as IJM, Gentari, Eversendai and SMH Rail continue to expand their presence in India.

The visit aims to strengthen Malaysia-India trade and investment ties, with bilateral trade reaching RM79.6 billion in 2025.
