    A tour bus carrying 14 passengers and a driver caught fire at KM137 of the northbound North-South Expressway near Yong Peng, Batu Pahat. All 15 people escaped unhurt after the driver and tour leader evacuated them before firefighters arrived. The bus was about 80 per cent destroyed and the blaze was put out at 2.48pm.

Initial checks showed a high radiation reading, prompting the deployment of the Bomb Disposal Unit and the Bukit Aman CBRNE unit, but the Malaysian Nuclear Agency later confirmed no radioactivity. The box contained colourful toy building blocks and police are investigating the case as criminal intimidation.

    A 46-year-old woman was injured when her Honda City overturned after its left tyre struck a raised metal road fixture on Jalan Gasing-Jalan Templer in Petaling Jaya at about 7.10am. She was taken to Assunta Hospital for a leg injury. Police say the poorly maintained fixture caused the crash and are investigating under the Road Traffic Rules.

    A 39-year-old man was fined RM2,000 by the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court after pleading guilty to stealing 65 items worth RM730.97 from a supermarket in Subang Jaya on 20 December last year. Mohd Aslizan Mustafa Maarof was also ordered to serve 10 days in jail if he fails to pay the fine.
