OKU man pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting six-year-old girl in Permatang Pasir

124 motorcycles seized, 639 summonses in Permatang Pauh road gang op
Police seized 124 motorcycles and issued 639 summonses in an integrated operation against road gangs at Jalan Permatang Pauh near the North-South Expressway exit in Butterworth last night. Eight individuals were arrested for reckless and dangerous driving, while two others were detained for drug offences. Police identified the area as a weekend gathering spot for illegal racing and road gang activity.

Two men found dead in Penang drain and Sungai Perak
Two men were found dead in separate incidents in Penang and Perak today. In Butterworth, the body of a 37-year-old man was retrieved from a drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn in Taman Kelisa Emas, while in Perak the body of a 38-year-old man who jumped into Sungai Perak to retrieve his boat was found about four kilometres from where he went in.

Man found dead in 1.5m drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn, Butterworth
A man was found dead in a 1.5-metre-deep drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn on Jalan Siakap, Taman Kelisa Emas, Butterworth, today. The Perai Fire and Rescue Station received a call from police at 12.10pm to help lift the body, and the five-member operation ended at 12.47pm. The body was handed to police for further action.

Worker dies after scaffolding support structure collapses at Bukit Mertajam construction site
A worker died after a temporary structure supporting scaffolding collapsed at a construction site in Bukit Mertajam on 8 September. The victim fell from the eighth floor and was pronounced dead at the scene from severe head injuries. Penang's Department of Occupational Safety and Health issued a stop-work order and is investigating under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
