Police arrest man with 27 criminal records over wife's assault in Cheras
A man in his 30s with 27 prior criminal records was arrested over the assault and slashing of his wife in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Mother who manages funerals has to handle her own son's after Klang crash
A 62-year-old woman who has prepared bodies for burial for nearly 20 years had to handle her own son's remains after he died in a motorcycle crash at Kilometre 8.7 of Jalan Pelabuhan Barat in Klang. The 28-year-old technician is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle while riding from Klang to Westport and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Indian national held two days after Cheras snatch theft
An Indian national was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on 1 September, two days after he allegedly snatched a local man's necklace at Cheras Business Centre on 30 August. Police recovered the chain and the suspect is remanded until 20 September under Section 392 of the Penal Code.

Box suspected to be a bomb outside Sri Petaling shop was team-building equipment, police say
Police said the toy bricks found in a box outside a shop in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, that was initially suspected to be a bomb were part of team-building equipment. The Brickfields police chief said a company director confirmed the box belonged to his firm, and a worker left it behind after a team-building event in Ipoh on Sept 11-12. The bomb disposal unit was called in and later checks confirmed no radioactive material was present.

Body of missing fisherman found off Bagan Datuk, two still missing
One of three fishermen missing after setting out from Jeti Sementa, Kapar, last Sunday is believed dead after a body was found in waters off Bagan Datuk, Perak. The search and rescue operation on its third day has been expanded to the Selangor-Perak border and waters near Indonesia for the two remaining men.

Foreign workers occupy KL apartment utility rooms, run illegal motorcycle repair
At an affordable housing apartment on Jalan Ipoh in Kuala Lumpur, seven or eight Bangladeshi workers have been occupying equipment and pump rooms as living quarters and workshops, storing motorcycle tyres, black oil and petrol, and running an illegal motorcycle repair operation. Residents say one was seen showering in a women's toilet near the pool, and they have lodged three police reports and referred the matter to the COB, the strata management tribunal and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

Box mistaken for radioactive material in Sri Petaling turns out to be team building game
Police confirmed a plastic box suspected of containing radioactive material in front of a premises in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, actually held 20 plastic bricks from a game called 'radioactive bomb' used for team building. The box was accidentally left behind by a worker from a training management company after a programme in Ipoh, Perak, and the Bomb Disposal Unit destroyed it before the Atomic Energy Department confirmed no radioactive residue.

DAP urges AGC to brief family of teen killed in Bandar Utama school stabbing
DAP is pressing the Attorney General's Chambers to hold an official briefing for the family of a 16-year-old killed in a stabbing at a school in Bandar Utama. The call follows Monday's acquittal of a 15-year-old boy accused of the killing, after the Shah Alam High Court found he was of unsound mind at the time. DAP Women's chief Teo Nie Ching said the family deserves a full explanation of the ruling and whether the prosecution will appeal.

Immigration raids 11 premises on Jalan Chan Sow Lin, 30 foreigners held
Malaysian Immigration officers raided 11 premises in the commercial area of Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur, in Ops Serkap at midday yesterday. Thirty foreigners were detained, including 11 Bangladeshis suspected of running the premises, while 19 others were held for various immigration offences. Seized items included 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones, 10 Bangladeshi passports, and suspected fake e-PLKS and police reports sold at RM150 and RM70 each.

A Honda Civic driver tested positive for four types of drugs after crashing into three vehicles at a traffic light junction on Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam, Kuala Lumpur, at about 3.50pm yesterday. No injuries were reported and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Immigration detains 173 foreigners at Sepang hangar project site
Malaysian Immigration detained 173 foreign workers during a raid on an aircraft hangar construction site in Sepang today. The operation involved 88 officers who checked 261 individuals, and the employer was found to have used work permits registered to other companies. All detainees were sent to the KLIA Immigration Detention Depot for investigation.

AGC: Decision to drop Muhyiddin charges based on professional assessment
The Attorney General's Chambers said the decision not to pursue four charges against Muhyiddin Yassin over Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd was based on a professional assessment of evidence and the case's chances. The Kuala Lumpur High Court acquitted and discharged the Bersatu president of one abuse of power charge and three money laundering charges involving RM200 million. Three other charges under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009 will proceed.

DAP's Gobind Singh Deo had called for the attorney-general to explain the decision.

KPJ Healthcare has discontinued its legal action against seven of 11 former directors over the RM119.92 million sale of a 49% stake in Lablink in 2018. Wong Lee Ping wants the appeal filed to the Court of Appeal within 14 days. The Shah Alam High Court freed the teen on a defence of unsound mind and ordered him treated at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak.

High Court declines to cite MACC officer for contempt in Muhyiddin trial
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur decided not to begin contempt proceedings against MACC investigation officer Mazery Mohd Zaini after accepting his explanation for communicating with a colleague who lodged a police report. The report had named Muhyiddin Yassin's lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad over an allegedly classified document, but it was later given No Further Action status.

Tour bus catches fire at KM137 of North-South Expressway near Yong Peng, all 15 escape
A tour bus carrying 14 passengers and a driver caught fire at KM137 of the northbound North-South Expressway near Yong Peng, Batu Pahat. All 15 people escaped unhurt after the driver and tour leader evacuated them before firefighters arrived. The bus was about 80 per cent destroyed and the blaze was put out at 2.48pm.

Indian man held for driving lorry without licence near Rawang
An Indian man was detained in an enforcement operation on the North-South Expressway near Rawang, Selangor. He admitted driving heavy vehicles without a valid licence or work documents for two years, earning up to RM4,000 a month. Selangor JPJ said employers who hire unlicensed foreign workers face action.
