14-year-old driver crashes into two cars, drives against traffic in Perai
A 14-year-old driving a car was involved in two separate crashes in Taman Chai Leng, Perai, yesterday. The car allegedly hit a parked vehicle before driving against traffic on Lebuh Kurau 5 and hitting another car. No injuries were reported and police are investigating under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

72-year-old man burned as motorcycle catches fire in Jelutong
A 72-year-old man suffered first-degree burns to his hands and legs when his Honda EX5 motorcycle caught fire at Jalan Lenggong, Symphony Park in Jelutong, Penang. Firefighters from the Jalan Perak station put out the blaze, and the victim was taken to Penang Hospital. The case has been handed to the Fire Investigation Team.

Childminder in Air Itam charged with negligence over 13-month-old baby's death

OKU man pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting six-year-old girl in Permatang Pasir
A 35-year-old man pleaded not guilty at the Butterworth Sessions Court to physically sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl. Old tree falls in George Town, injuring family of three

Three police officers held over RM13,000 extortion in Pulau Tikus
Three police officers in Penang have been detained over the alleged extortion of four men of RM13,000 in Pulau Tikus on 6 August. Police: Desa Green fatal accident not a hit-and-run
An 81-year-old pedestrian died after falling onto the road in front of a moving car at the Desa Green flats in Penang on Sept 8. Northeast district police said CCTV footage showed the driver stopped and helped the victim, contradicting earlier hit-and-run reports. Two men found dead in Penang drain and Sungai Perak
Two men were found dead in separate incidents in Penang and Perak today. In Butterworth, the body of a 37-year-old man was retrieved from a drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn in Taman Kelisa Emas, while in Perak the body of a 38-year-old man who jumped into Sungai Perak to retrieve his boat was found about four kilometres from where he went in.

Man found dead in 1.5m drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn, Butterworth
A man was found dead in a 1.5-metre-deep drain near SMK Tun Hussein Onn on Jalan Siakap, Taman Kelisa Emas, Butterworth, today. The Perai Fire and Rescue Station received a call from police at 12.10pm to help lift the body, and the five-member operation ended at 12.47pm. The body was handed to police for further action.

Babysitter in Air Itam remanded seven days after 13-month-old dies
A 13-month-old boy was found unconscious at his babysitter's home in Kampung Melayu, Air Itam, Penang, on Tuesday and later pronounced dead at Penang Hospital.
