159 Selangor students join Museum Overnight Programme for Malaysia Day
A total of 159 students from 17 schools in Selangor took part in the 2026 Museum Overnight Programme at Muzium Sultan Alam Shah in Shah Alam. The two-day event, organised by PADAT with the Museums Department, aims to bring young people closer to the country's history and heritage.

Ministry approves RM200,000 to repair SK Setia Alam classrooms
The Education Ministry has approved RM200,000 for initial repair and electrical works at SK Setia Alam in Shah Alam, Selangor, after a classroom was destroyed in a fire last Monday. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said a technical team visited the school a day after the incident, and repairs will begin once police and fire investigations are complete.

25 Shah Alam students compete in NST junior journalist contest
Twenty-five students from four Shah Alam secondary schools took part in the inaugural New Straits Times Heard The News Junior Journalists Challenge. Shrilaxmi Harenath Rao of SMK Bukit Jelutong won, with Sanjanaah Mages Varan and Qaseh Nazatul Nabila Mohd Ridzuan of SMK TTDI Jaya second and third. The event, held for NST's 181st anniversary, was supported by the Petaling Perdana Education Office and sponsored by Nestle.
