SWDA launches 200 AI courses and Connect centre at Lifelong Learning Institute
Singapore's Skills and Workforce Development Agency rolled out over 200 AI-related training courses on Wednesday, with free six-month subscriptions to premium AI tools for eligible citizens. It also opened Connect by SWDA, a careers and skills service centre at the Lifelong Learning Institute, which Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said will make support easier to navigate.

At the Lifelong Learning Institute in Singapore, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong launched Connect by SWDA, a new careers and skills service centre run by the merged Skills and Workforce Development Agency. He said firms must plan for their workers at the same time as they transform, rather than leaving workforce issues to HR after business decisions are made.

All PCF Sparkletots preschools to offer three mother tongues from 2027
Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong announced that all PCF Sparkletots preschools will offer Chinese, Malay and Tamil from 2027, expanding mother-tongue learning across 350 centres nationwide. He said nearly 40,000 children will benefit, speaking at an event at One Punggol.

OBS opens largest campus on Coney Island with wheelchair-accessible elements
Outward Bound Singapore opened its largest campus on Coney Island on Sept 11, featuring over 70 high-adventure elements including wheelchair-accessible ones. The 12-ha site, opened by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, will let OBS accommodate the entire Secondary 3 cohort by 2030. The $250 million project was first announced in 2016 and faced delays.
