   Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said safety and disaster preparedness education should start at a young age. He spoke at the closing of the Kampung Siaga 221 programme at Kampung Kokol, Manggatal, on Saturday. The Sabah Civil Defence director said the programme, the third this year, will continue annually.

   Safoda Eco Forest Park in Kinarut held a tree-planting ceremony on Tuesday for the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies. The event, sponsored by the Japanese community through JICA, brought together students, educators and representatives from Japan and Sabah amid ongoing haze in Sabah and Sarawak.
