About 2,000 people filled the Keretapi Tanah Melayu station in Ipoh today for Keretapi Sarong, a Malaysia Day celebration in traditional and retro attire. The fifth edition featured cultural performances, traditional games and visits to venues around Ipoh Old Town.

Ipoh gets RM12.5m tourism boost, coffee festival to be annual
Ipoh is set to receive RM12.5 million for tourism and Kinta Riverfront upgrades, announced by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming at the inaugural Ipoh Coffee Festival 2026 at Riverfront @ Old Town. The festival, which drew thousands over four days, will become an annual event alongside the Ipoh Food Festival, with a white coffee master competition planned for next year.

McDonald's holds Piknik Famili Terbesar at Pengkalan Chepa and Pantai Batu Buruk
McDonald's Malaysia held its Piknik Famili Terbesar @ Mekdi at two East Coast locations, Pengkalan Chepa in Kelantan and Pantai Batu Buruk in Terengganu, on 5 September. The event offered free meals, traditional games, a children's fashion show and the Mekdi mascot, and introduced the new Ayam Goreng McD Rasa Ori menu.
