Wanita UMNO and Puteri UMNO urged their wings to rebuild public trust ahead of the next general election. Wanita chief Noraini Ahmad said BN's wins in Johor and Negeri Sembilan showed trust can be regained, while Puteri chief Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi pressed for a 30 per cent quota for women candidates. Both spoke at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre.

Umno Youth has declared its readiness to support a proposed mega ummah unity gathering with PAS to strengthen Malay-Muslim political cooperation. Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh said his wing is ready to answer PAS Youth's call for a Himpunan Mega Penyatuan Ummah, but wants the rally to include discussion and proposed solutions. He said this in his keynote address at the Umno Youth assembly at the World Trade Centre (WTC). Akmal also announced plans for a special team to help women left without support when husbands fail to pay maintenance.

Agong presents instruments of appointment to two judges at Istana Negara
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim today presented instruments of appointment to Court of Appeal judge Alice Loke Yee Ching and High Court judge Elaine Yap Chin Gaik. The ceremony was held at the Small Throne Room of Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur and attended by the Chief Justice and the Attorney General.

UMNO Youth warns lazy, uncontactable reps will not be renominated
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh warned that any elected representative from the wing who fails to serve, is arrogant or is hard to contact will not be renominated in the next general election. He said this in his policy speech at the UMNO Youth General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. He also announced RM36,000 into the SSPN account of the son of the late Maran UMNO Youth chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, who will be made the wing's official adopted child.

King grants audience to Zambry and PSC chairman at Istana Negara
Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, today granted an audience to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Istana Negara. His Majesty also granted an audience to Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus. During the session, the King agreed to be briefed on the Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Alice Loke elevated to Court of Appeal, Elaine Yap confirmed as High Court judge
High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The appointment will raise the number of Court of Appeal judges to 31 out of the constitutionally mandated 32 positions.
