UMNO assembly day three: Ahmad Zahid's policy speech in focus
The third day of UMNO's 2026 general assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur is expected to centre on the President's policy speech by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The address is expected to cover the party's political cooperation within the Unity Government, preparations for the Melaka state election and GE-16, and issues including the Tabung Haji RCI and FELDA. Nearly 3,000 delegates are attending.

At the UMNO 2026 General Assembly at WTCKL, party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi warned delegates not to be 'bitten by the same snake' in political cooperation. Deputy President Mohamad Hasan said UMNO will not forget being played in Malay-Islamic unity efforts. A Kubang Pasu delegate added that any cooperation must be sincere and willing to compromise, including on seat allocation in PN-held states.

Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh has asked party leaders to involve the wing in drafting the Barisan Nasional election manifesto. Umno open to cooperation but refuses to be tied to any party

Akmal: UMNO Youth reps who underperform or are hard to reach will not be renominated
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said elected representatives from the wing who underperform, put personal interests first or are hard to contact will not be renominated in the next general election. Speaking at the UMNO Youth General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, he also announced the wing will adopt the child of the late Maran UMNO Youth division chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, with RM36,000 placed in an SSPN account for the five-year-old.
