Fibre services fully restored after Bishan and Thomson outage
Fibre services in parts of Bishan and Thomson were fully restored at 5.40am on Wednesday after an outage that began on Tuesday and affected about 2,000 end-user connections. NetLink Trust said the disruption was caused by damage to its fibre infrastructure during road-widening works by a third-party contractor not engaged by the company.

About 2,000 Singtel, StarHub and M1 broadband users in parts of Bishan and Thomson lost fibre service after a third-party contractor damaged multiple NetLink Trust cables. NetLink Trust says restoration is under way and should be complete by Wednesday morning.

Fibre cut disrupts Singtel, StarHub and M1 internet services
A fibre connection cut on Tuesday (Sept 15) caused temporary internet disruption for customers of Singtel, StarHub and M1 in Singapore. NetLink Trust said about 1,200 users in Bishan and Thomson may have been affected, and it is working with telcos to restore service.

Safety operators keep watch as driverless shuttles run in Punggol
In Punggol, 24-year-old Sherman Seng works as a safety operator for Zig Driverless, a ComfortDelGro unit, monitoring autonomous shuttle rides that began in April. He and 12 other operators watch for vehicle errors, take manual control when needed and feed problems back to engineers. Seng trained three weeks in Guangzhou before operating the shuttles.

'Ali' robot trialled at Little India MRT station
A 1.27-metre robot named 'Ali' was trialled by the Land Transport Authority at Little India MRT station on the Downtown Line from Aug 31 to Sept 11. Tamil Murasu asked commuters for their views; some said it was useful for children and tourists but questioned its value for the elderly and general public.
