Pestec gets KL High Court injunction blocking Chinese supplier from enforcing guarantee
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has extended an injunction stopping China-based supplier Shandong Power Equipment Co Ltd from enforcing an undated corporate guarantee against Pestec International Bhd. The order holds until an Oct 9 hearing, as Pestec defends itself against a winding-up petition. Pestec shares fell half a sen to five sen.

Agrobank records RM600,000 micro-financing potential at KL Night Market Fiesta
Agrobank recorded RM600,000 in potential micro-financing through its participation in the Kuala Lumpur Night Market Fiesta. The bank also logged Takaful Kasih Plus coverage of up to RM1.09 million at the fiesta, while its nationwide engagement programme at farmers' markets produced about RM13.5 million in micro-financing applications.

F1 returns to Sepang in October, projected to generate RM1.3 billion
The rescheduled Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang International Circuit from Oct 2 to 4, 2026, marking Formula 1's return to Malaysia for the first time since 2017. HLIB Research estimates the event could generate RM1.1 billion to RM1.3 billion in economic output, with tourism spending as the main driver.

Woman sells RM2,000 gold bangle for RM17,900 after 20 years
A woman in Petaling Jaya sold a 35-gram gold bangle she bought for about RM2,000 two decades ago for RM17,900. Hasnah Deraman, 54, said the rise in gold prices gave her a gain of almost RM16,000 over the original price. She advised women to buy gold according to their means as long-term savings.
