SMJK Ken Hwa jump rope team finishes fourth at national meet
The jump rope team from SMJK Ken Hwa in Keningau, Sabah finished fourth in the Figure 8 event at the 2026 National Jump Rope Competition. The competition was held at Sunsuria Forum in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, Selangor from Aug 20 to 22, with 59 schools taking part. The team of eight Form One and Form Two students also competed in the 4 x 30s Speed Relay.

Para sprinter Ivan Jovic wins gold at Para SUKMA, targets Asian Para Games glory
National para-sprinter Ivan Jovic Suan won the 100m gold at the 2026 Selangor Para SUKMA at UiTM Shah Alam Stadium. The 17-year-old from Sabah is using the win as a final tune-up for his debut at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games next month, where he aims to challenge Saudi Arabia's Naif Al Masrahi.

Sarawak para athlete Richard Bada won three gold medals in the men's F41 throwing events at the Games held at Stadium UiTM Shah Alam. He set new Games records in the shot put and javelin, and also won the discus. The 33-year-old from Kampung Segenam, Serian, dedicated his wins to his teammates and Sarawak.

Sabah contingent on track for 66-gold target at Para Sukma 2026
The Sabah Para contingent has won 24 gold medals by the second day of the 2026 Malaysian Para Games in Selangor, putting them on track to reach their 66-gold target. The athletics team contributed 12 golds, while the swimming and tenpin bowling teams added more. Notable winners include Eljoe Gotuoh, who secured a hat-trick in the men's T20 long jump, and table tennis veteran Mohd Nazizul, who won his fifth consecutive gold.

Para SUKMA: Sabah dominates athletics with 14 golds, three national records fall
At the Para SUKMA games in Shah Alam, Sabah's contingent won 14 gold medals in para athletics at the UiTM Shah Alam Stadium. National records were broken by Muhammad Hafiq Hizwan of Melaka in the 400m T46, Alysha Aryana of Selangor in the 100m freestyle S14, and Bibiana Ahmad of Sarawak in powerlifting.
