Chef dies after bicycle wheel caught in drain cover gap in Bukit Beruang
A 36-year-old chef, Ahmad Shasli Hassan, died after his bicycle's front wheel caught in the gap of an iron drain cover in Bukit Beruang, Melaka, causing him to fall and suffer severe head and facial injuries. The incident occurred at about 7.10pm on Monday, September 14; he was taken to Melaka Hospital and died at about 9pm, confirmed by the Melaka Tengah district police chief.

SMK Ghafar Baba wins Melaka pantun competition, advances to Southern Zone final in Johor Bahru
SMK Ghafar Baba emerged champion of the 2026 DRB-HICOM-Harian Metro Proverb-themed Pantun Competition at the Melaka state level, held in Banda Hilir. The school will represent Melaka at the Southern Zone final at Maktab Abu Bakar in Johor Bahru on Sept 29. More than 300 students attended the competition, which was judged by four professionals.

KPKT allocates RM128.2 million for 24 projects in Melaka
The Housing and Local Government Ministry has allocated RM128.2 million for 24 infrastructure projects across 12 areas in Melaka, covering housing, public amenities, waste management and community well-being. Skechers Malaysia targets 11 new store locations by year-end

Adam Adli: RM1 million Kampung Angkat Madani project in Sungai Putat
